A Four-Day Journey Through Kambo and Bufo: Healing Through Time, Space, and Love

There are experiences in life that shift us so deeply we can never return to who we once were. My recent four-day journey—three days of Kambo followed by a single, life-altering day of Bufo—was one of those moments. It was a journey through my past, present, and future, guided by the wisdom of these sacred medicines and the limitless power of the heart.

Kambo: The Purification of Mind, Body, and Spirit

For three days, I sat with Kambo, a powerful secretion from the giant monkey frog used for centuries by indigenous tribes for cleansing, strength, and resilience. Unlike psychedelics, Kambo does not alter perception; instead, it works as an intense physical and energetic detox.

Scientifically, Kambo contains bioactive peptides—small protein-like molecules that interact with the body in profound ways. These peptides stimulate the immune system, enhance cognitive function, and even act as natural pain relievers. But beyond the science, Kambo is a deep spiritual purge, pulling toxins not only from the body but from the soul.

Each ceremony was different. One day, I felt a deep physical release, as if my body had been holding onto tension I didn’t even realize was there. Another day, I faced waves of emotions—grief, joy, love—all moving through me like a storm finally passing. By the third day, a stillness emerged. A clarity. My body felt lighter, my mind quieter, my spirit ready for what was to come next.

Bufo: The Medicine of the Heart and the Journey Through Time

On the fourth day, I met Bufo.

Bufo, or 5-MeO-DMT, is a powerful entheogen derived from the Sonoran Desert toad. Unlike other psychedelic compounds, which often create visual hallucinations, Bufo dissolves the ego entirely, leading to what many describe as a “oneness” experience—a complete merging with the universe.

As I inhaled the medicine, time ceased to exist. I was no longer bound by my physical form. Instead, I saw everything—my past, present, and future—laid out before me, woven together in a beautiful, intricate dance. I watched memories unfold, revisiting moments of pain and joy, but this time, I saw them with love. Every experience, every challenge, every triumph had brought me to this moment, and there was nothing to fear.

In that space, I understood that Bufo is the medicine of the heart. It does not show you things to analyze or break apart—it shows you love in its purest form. It teaches you that love is not something to seek but something that has always been within. I felt myself dissolve into it, becoming one with the infinite, held in the arms of existence itself.

Integration: Walking Forward With an Open Heart

The days that followed were filled with reflection. How do you put into words an experience that exists beyond language? How do you bring back something so vast into the simplicity of everyday life?

I realized that the purpose of these medicines is not just to create a profound experience but to change how we move through the world. To see life differently. To embrace the waves, the emotions, the unknown, with trust and love.

I am not the same person I was before these four days. My heart is open in a way it has never been before. I move forward knowing that healing is not about fixing—it is about remembering. Remembering that we are already whole. That love is always here. That life is a gift to be embraced fully.

Gratitude for the Journey

To Kambo, for clearing the way.

To Bufo, for showing me the infinite.

To the guides who held space for me—@kambo_ash, @linhyrd84, @geraldine.y.mcmanus, @yogabarn—thank you for your wisdom, love, and support.

This is just the beginning of a new way of being. I am here. I am present. I am love.

And if you ever feel called to these medicines, trust that they will meet you exactly where you need to be.

p.s. the scars do fade as i'm writing this 7 months later in reflection.

Thank you Kambo.
